CUSTOM UMBRELLA SOURCING
Custom Umbrella Sample Approval Checklist for Buyers
A sample review turns a purchasing brief into an agreed product specification. Record what was reviewed and what remains open, especially when artwork, materials or packaging change between versions.
Identify the exact sample
Record the model, revision date and sample reference. Compare the sample against the agreed specification rather than a similar product photograph. Retain reference photographs and a written list of approved details.
Check dimensions and operation
Review the agreed open and folded dimensions, opening mechanism, handle and closure. Operate the sample as intended and record issues for the supplier. Do not treat rib count alone as proof of durability or wind resistance.
Review fabric, colour and appearance
Confirm the fabric description and coating against the project brief. Review colour under consistent lighting. If a performance claim such as UPF or water resistance is required, agree on the relevant test method and evidence rather than relying on appearance.
Check the print at full size
Inspect artwork scale, spelling, orientation, panel position and alignment across seams. Review both the open canopy and folded presentation. Record any change before approving production artwork.
Approve the complete packed product
Check the sleeve, labels, hangtags, individual packaging and agreed carton information. Put approval and requested corrections in writing. Confirm which approved sample and artwork revision production will follow.
